Assign a Device Tag to a channel or dataset

  1. Navigate to the channel or dataset (System Configuration/Physical Network/Control Network/controller/I/O/card or System Configuration/Physical Network/Control Network/controller/I/O/card/port/serial device).
  2. Right-click the channel or dataset.
  3. Click Assign Device Tag.
  4. Select All from the Object Type box to see all device tags if necessary.

There are three other ways you can assign a device tag:

  • From the device tag context menu, select Cut, then paste to a channel or dataset.
  • Drag the device tag from Unassigned I/O References to a channel or dataset.
  • Use the I/O Configuration application.
