Logic Solver CRCs dialogs

Use this dialog to compare the Last Downloaded configuration CRC with the current Database CRC and confirm that your safety configuration has not changed. This can be performed on a given release to confirm no changes have occurred, or after a DeltaV software upgrade or Service Pack installation.

Note:

This dialog is common to both SLS 1508 SIS systems and CHARMs Smart Logic Solver (CSLS) SIS systems on a Local Safety Network. The CSLS items that can appear in the list are CSLSs, Local Safety Network Bridges (LSNBs), and Local Safety Network Gateways (LSNGs).

CRC list

For each item in the list the following information appears:

  • Logic Solver name (for SLS 1508 systems) or LSN Node name (for CSLS sytems)
  • Type
    • Logic Solver
    • CHARMS Logic Solver
    • LSN Bridge
    • LSN Gateway
  • Description
  • Last Download
  • Last Download CRC
  • Current Database CRC

If the two CRCs for an item are not identical, an indicator (x) appears in the first column before the item name.

Note:

In most cases the indicator means that the configuration currently running is not the same as the configuration in the configuration database. However, if you have made online changes and subsequently uploaded them, the two configurations are identical but the indicator will appear.

The reason is because the Current Database CRC reflects the online changes, but the Last Download CRC is only calculated on a download, so it does not reflect the configuration database changes. Because the running configuration and the configuration database are the same, a blue triangle does not appear next to the item in DeltaV Explorer.
