Configure WIOC's HART-IP Access Control List

Create an access control list for the WIOC to control which nodes (by IP address) are allowed to communicate with the HART devices using HART-IP communications.

  1. Create the WIOC in DeltaV Explorer under the Wireless I/O Network.
  2. Right click the WIOC and select Properties.
  3. Select the HART-IP tab.
  4. Check the Enable HART-IP communications option.

All other fields on this dialog are disabled until you enable communications.

  5. Select the HART-IP Port from the list.
    Note:

Changing the HART-IP port requires a restart of the HART server. The restarting process reforms the network meaning the devices will disconnect and reconnect. This can take some time to complete and results in a loss of control during this period (from a few minutes to a few hours).

  6. Click the Add... button to add a node to your access control list (also referred to as a whitelist).

Nodes are added one at a time.

The access control list has a limit of 10 nodes.

  7. Enter the node's name and IP address and click OK.

If the IP address changes, you must update this list. The access is granted by IP address, not node name.

  8. Continue adding nodes.
  9. When done, click OK.
  10. Download the WIOC.
    Note:

A download of the WIOC is required after making any changes to the HART-IP communications options on the wireless I/O card Properties dialog's HART-IP page. Initial configuration requires a total download; any subsequent change only requires downloading the setup data.
