Auto-sense an SLS 1508 Logic Solver card

To be auto-sensed redundant Logic Solver cards must be physically plugged into slots beginning with an odd number (1, 3, 5, etc.) on a DeltaV I/O carrier. A single Logic Solver card requires two slots; a redundant pair requires four slots. The DeltaV controller attached to the I/O carrier must be connected to the DeltaV Network and commissioned.

  1. Navigate to the I/O subsystem containing the Logic Solver card.
  2. Right-click I/O, and then select Auto-sense I/O Cards.
  3. Click OK in the Auto-Sense Cards dialog. This dialog compares the auto-sensed cards with the I/O in the database.
  4. Click OK in the dialog that states that a card was inserted into a slot.
    Note:
    If a Logic Solver card has been auto-sensed, but the DeltaV SIS System Preference was not enabled, the card is still added to the database. However, the SIS Network is not displayed.
