Add a HART device

Adding a HART device requires a physical or placeholder I/O card that supports HART and a channel configured as a HART type.

  1. Navigate to the HART device tag that you want to associate with the device (System Configuration/Physical Network/Control Network/controller/I/O/card/channel).
  2. Right-click the device tag.
  3. Click Properties.
  4. Click Copy Library Data to base this device on an existing device template or device definition (optionally, you can select the device manufacture, type and revision).
  5. Select the Object Type (Device Template or HART Device Definition).
  6. Select the device type and revision on which you want to base the device and click OK to exit the Browse dialog.
  7. Click OK
