Add Remote Client sessions

  1. Navigate to the Remote Client subsystem under the workstation to be used as a Remote Client server.
  2. Right-click the workstation, and then select New Terminal Session.

    The new terminal session is given a default name of workstationSESSIONn where workstation is the name of the server and n is the next session number available.

  3. Rename the terminal session and, optionally, enter a description.
Note:
It is recommended that you give descriptive names to remote sessions to identify the areas assigned to the session and restrictions on its use (such as operate only), if there are any. This will help users select appropriate terminal sessions during the logon procedure. If you have multiple systems, it is recommended that, to avoid confusion, you do not use the same session names.

Names follow standard DeltaV naming conventions and may be up to 16 characters with no spaces. Sessions cannot have the same name as other objects within the DeltaV system.
