Add a user-created parameter to the security section

  1. Navigate to Security (System Configuration/Setup).
  2. Click Security.
  3. Right-click Parameter Security.
  4. Click Properties.
  5. In the Parameter Security dialog, click Add.
  6. Type the name of the parameter and select a lock name.
Note:
You must add user-created parameters to the security section in DeltaV Explorer in order to define locks for them. User-created parameters are parameters created in Control Studio. If the proper lock is not assigned, you may not be able to write to the parameter from DeltaV Operate.
