The DeltaV Function Wizard supports the A1 reference style. It does not support the R1C1 reference style. (A1 reference style is the default.)
In general, while a workbook is under construction it is a good idea to put Excel into manual calculation mode. While Excel is in manual mode, updates are suspended. Pressing F9 will still allow you to retrieve data in a manual fashion. When the workbook is finished being heavily edited, simply put Excel back into automatic calculation mode to resume DeltaV data updates.
