The DeltaV system automatically manages a Stale Link Count Limit parameter for communication between fieldbus devices and for communication between the DeltaV system and fieldbus devices. The Stale Link Count Limit specifies the number of communications that can be missed before the parameter status is set to BAD. The default Stale Link Count Limit for the DeltaV system is three for communications between fieldbus devices. The DeltaV system adjusts the Stale Link Count Limit to more than three for communications between the DeltaV Controller and the fieldbus if the module scan rate is faster than the schedule macrocycle.
This parameter is automatically set by the DeltaV system and is not user configurable.
