Migrate controllers online

  1. Verify that the Active and Standby LEDs on the current active and standby controllers are steady.
  2. Ensure that DeltaV Diagnostics shows no Bad Integrity on the current controller's redundancy subsystem and on the standby controller.
  3. Ensure that DeltaV Diagnostics shows that the standby controller is present and available for switchover.
  4. Replace the current standby controller with the new model standby controller.
  5. Use the DeltaV Controller and I/O Upgrade Utility to upgrade the controller to the correct version of the DeltaV software.
  6. Wait for the migrated standby controller to become reconfigured and its LED to go to steady.
  7. Ensure that DeltaV Diagnostics shows no Bad Integrity on the current active controller's redundancy subsystem and on the standby controller.
  8. Ensure that DeltaV Diagnostics shows that the standby controller is present and available for switchover.
  9. Manually initiate a controller switchover from DeltaV Diagnostics. The newly replaced standby controller becomes the new active controller.
  10. Replace the standby controller with the new model controller.
  11. Use the DeltaV Controller and I/O Upgrade Utility to upgrade the new controller to the correct version of the DeltaV software.
  12. Launch DeltaV Explorer and ensure that the controller model displayed within controller properties have updated to the correct model for both controllers. If the controllers' models in DeltaV Explorer have not updated then download the Setup Data for the controller.
