Configuration Assistant organizes the steps for configuring a DeltaV system into the following sections:
Lets you define this workstation to record all the events in the system and the process. Events include alarms and operator changes.
Helps you define information about your standard controllers and I/O cards (Configuration Assistant does not support the configuration of PROVOX, RS3 and remote I/O). The controllers execute the control strategy you develop in Configuration Assistant. The controllers you define in this section can be connected to the system, or they can be placeholders. A placeholder controller exists only in the database. By using placeholder controllers, you can configure the controller before actually receiving it.
Steps you through control strategy configuration. The DeltaV system includes a library of strategies for typical process applications. You will use one of these strategies in this section. This library includes information on all the algorithms, alarms, and display components necessary for control and monitoring.
Takes the information you developed through Configuration Assistant and puts it to work in the workstation and the controller. You can only download nodes that have been assigned licenses.
