Assign a decommissioned controller to the Control Network

  1. Navigate to the decommissioned controller you want to assign to the network (System Configuration/Physical Network/Decommissioned Controllers).
  2. Select the controller you want to add to the Control Network.
  3. Right click and select Commission.

    Alternately, you can drag the controller to its placeholder on the Control Network.

    Note

    A controller placeholder is where you have defined a controller's properties before the controller is ready to be commissioned. The placeholder exists on the Control Network but does not have an actual controller assigned to it.

  4. DeltaV Explorer asks if you want to auto-sense the I/O as well as the controller. If there is I/O connected, click Yes. Otherwise, click No.
