Advanced Continuous Historian licenses must be assigned to a DeltaV Application Station.
On new Application Stations, the Advanced Continuous Historian is licensed with Scale-up licenses that can be configured for up to a maximum of 60,000 parameters per Application Station. Note that the 250-parameter base license for a DeltaV Continuous Historian included with a new Application Station software suite cannot be configured for use by the Advanced Continuous Historian.
If you are migrating from the Legacy Historian or the DeltaV Continuous Historian to the Advanced Continuous Historian on an existing Application Station, previously assigned Legacy Historian licenses, DeltaV Continuous Historian licenses, and the 250-parameter base license originally included with the Application Station can be configured as Version Upgrade licenses for up to a maximum of 60,000 parameters per Application Station. If the total number of Version Upgrade licenses is less than 60,000, additional Scale-up licenses can be assigned to the Application Station, up to a maximum of 60,000 parameters per Application Station.
When the Continuous Historian subsystem is downloaded, DeltaV checks the configuration database to validate the total configured historian parameters. The Continuous Historian subsystem download is disallowed if the total configured historian parameters exceed the number of Advanced Continuous Historian licenses, including all Version Upgrade and Scale-up licenses.
