To view historical data with Process History View, you must specify the node where PI Server is running in the Historical Data Server field on the Continuous Historian tab of the Set Default Data Servers dialog in Process History View. If the node where PI Server is running does not appear on the drop-down list—for example, in a DeltaV Zones environment or when an integrated PI Server is installed on a non-DeltaV workstation—you can enter the node name in the Historical Data Server field explicitly.
To improve performance when opening a chart for historical data, enable the Connect to Advance Continuous Historian Server option on the Continuous Historian tab of the Set Default Data Servers dialog.
