Data exchange using polling is the normal method of communication and begins when the port is downloaded. The port uses the polling connection configured in the device. The port verifies the device's Vendor ID, Device Type, and Product Code, and I/O polling size attributes and then begins exchanging data with the device. The data is mapped by the user to DeviceNet signals.
The change-of-state and strobe methods of communication are not supported by the DeltaV system.
