Serial card redundancy
- The Serial card uses 1:1 redundancy. The active card sends and
receives data from the slave device while the standby card requests and
receives diagnostic information to monitor the standby card's communication.
- Both ports on the redundant Serial card can be configured as Master
only.
- Connect the same port (Port 1 or Port 2) on both the active and
standby cards to separate ports on a multi-port slave device or to individual
ports on identical single port slave devices.
- Serial arbitrators that are used to connect the active and standby
cards to a single port slave device are not supported.
