Install and launch VIMNet software

Install the VIMNet software on a computer connected to the PLC network. To install the VIMNet software:

  1. Insert the DeltaV installation disk #4 into a drive on the target computer.
  2. Navigate to \DV_Extras\VIMNetExplorer.
  3. Double-click the .msi VIMNet installation file.
  4. Follow the instructions on the dialogs that appear.

If the DeltaV installation disk #4 is not available, you can copy the .msi VIMNet installation file from the \DeltaV\bin\VIMNetExplorer directory on any DeltaV workstation.

To launch the VIMNet software select Start → All Programs → Mynah → VIMNet Explorer. If you installed it on a DeltaV Professional or ProfessionalPLUS workstation, you can launch it from DeltaV Explorer from the Applications menu or from the Launch VIMNet Explorer button on the toolbar.

Now use the VIMNet software to create and commission VIMs using the VIMNet documentation as a guide.

Uninstall VIMNet Explorer software

To uninstall the VIMNet Explorer software:

  1. Open Control Panel → Programs and Features → Uninstall a program.
  2. Select VIMNet Explorer from the list.
  3. Right click and select Uninstall.
  4. When the uninstall completes, close Control Panel's Programs and Features window.
