Domain or workgroup selection dialog

Network Type

DeltaV Workstation Configuration detects if this workstation is part of a domain or workgroup and displays the domain name or workgroup name on this screen.

Note

If you are logged on with Windows Domain Administrator privileges, you can use this screen to change from a workgroup to a domain or from a domain to a workgroup and you can change the workgroup or domain name.

This is the last piece of information collected by DeltaV Workstation Configuration. The next screen displays all the information collected so far and asks you to verify this information before installation begins.

Select the appropriate network option and provide the network name in the field provided.

WorkGroup
Select this button to put the workstation in a workgroup.
Domain: ProfessionalPLUS as the Domain Controller
Select this button to put the workstation in a domain where the ProfessionalPLUS is the domain controller.
Domain: Independent DeltaV Domain Controller
Select this button to put the workstation in a domain where the IDDC is the domain controller.
Type Or Select The Network Name (FQDN)
  • For workgroups, enter the workgroup name (or select from the drop-down list if populated). Use the NetBIOS short name for this field. To find the NetBIOS short name, refer to the Microsoft help system.

  • For domains, enter the domain name (or select from the drop-down list if populated). Use the active directory domain name. For example, myDeltaV.com. Your domain controller shows the domain name under Active Directory Administrative Center. Select the local domain controller, right click and select properties. The Domain Name field is the name you want to enter here.

If the network name list field is blank (this can occur if you are not connected to the network at this time), you can enter the network name using the naming rules listed above.
