Assign Network Cards
Use this dialog to assign the network interface connections in this
computer to the primary and secondary (if the computer is using redundant ACN
networks) DeltaV networks. This dialog displays the network cards which most
closely match the IP addresses of the primary and secondary network cards in
your computer. The dialog has the following fields and controls
- Primary Card Title and Current IP
- Displays the card that is currently assigned as the primary
network card. To reassign this card, select it, and then click the
Unassign button.
- Secondary Card Title and Current IP
- Displays the card that is currently assigned as the secondary
network card. To reassign this card, select it, and then click the
Unassign button.
- Direct Link Card Title and Current IP (Redundant Batch only)
- Displays the card that is currently assigned as the Direct Link
network card. To reassign this card, select it, and then click the
Unassign button.
- Available LAN Cards
- Lists the cards that are currently unassigned. If the card that
you want to assign is in the
Available LAN Cards list, select the card,
and then click
Primary or
Secondary.
- Unassign
- Moves the selected card from the primary or secondary list to
the
Available LAN Cards list.
- Primary
- Click to move the card selected in the
Available LAN Cards list to the
Primary list.
- Secondary
- Click to move the card selected in the
Available LAN Cards list to the
Secondary list.
- Direct Link
(Redundant Batch only)
- Click to move the card selected in the
Available LAN Cards list to the
Direct Link list.
The Direct Link IP address is used by the Redundant
Batch subsystem as a private connection between the two partners. If, at the
time of data transfer, the
Direct Link button is not available, the
transfer is attempted over the DeltaV ACN; where the secondary connection is
attempted first, then, if that is unavailable (not configured or fails), the
transfer is attempted over the DeltaV ACN (primary or secondary) connection.
