DeltaV PK Merge utility overview

Decommission and re-commission

At this point, the controller must be disconnected from the Engineering Station (or at least shut down the Engineering Station) and connected to your DeltaV balance-of-plant system so that it can be detected. The controller cannot be detected by this utility if it is still communicating with the Engineering Station.

Important

Your process must be in a safe and steady state before proceeding. During the process of re-commissioning the controller and any associated I/O nodes are first decommissioned and cannot control a live process.

Locked Standalone DeltaV PK controllers will not decommission. You must unlock the PK controller prior to decommissioning.

Locked nodes attached to a Standalone DeltaV PK controller will not decommission. You must unlock the attached node prior to decommissioning the PK controller

You must have a commissioned controller attached to the DeltaV network to perform this step.

Authenticate with PK Controller controller name
Authenticates with the connected commissioned controller (as named) using the password you enter here. This password was established in the controller when the controller was originally commissioned.
Click the arrow (->) button to transmit the entered password to the controller.
Once authenticated, the page displays the details of the nodes associated with the controller.
Columnar view
Lists the controller and its associated nodes. This is the unit that will be re-commissioned in this step. Connect only one standalone controller unit to the DeltaV ACN at a time due to potential (and likely) IP address conflicts.
Similar to a spreadsheet, you can sort the data by clicking the column heading.
Decommission All button
Starts the decommissioning process on the listed controller and associated I/O nodes.
The Status column displays Decommissioned.
Important

Before decommissioning the Standalone DeltaV PK controller (the last step in the merge process), review the log files for errors and verify that all objects loaded without error.

If a node fails to decommission with a Communication Error, you may need to physically decommission the node.

The PK controller is re-commissioned as a node in the connected balance-of-plant DeltaV system. You must now download the ProfessionalPLUS Setup Data.
