A controller's name can be as many as 16 characters, must contain at least one letter, and may contain only letters, numbers, and $, -, or _. In addition, the last 9 characters must be a unique string for each controller if you want DeltaV Explorer to create DSTs for input and output card channels when you add a card. Explorer creates DST names by taking as many as the last 9 characters of the controller name and adding CnnCHnn. Cnn is the card slot and CHnn is the channel number where the DST is created. For example, the DST created for channel 4 of the card in slot 3 of a controller named ABCDEFGH12345678 would be named H12345678C03CH04.
