Generate an OPC UA user certificate

  1. Select the user account from the user list.

    If the user account has not been created, do so now (File → New → User).

  2. Open the user's Properties dialog by one of these methods:
    • Right click and select Properties.
    • With the user name selected, select File → Properties .
    • Double click the user name.
  3. Select the option OPC UA User (under the DeltaV Database Account option).

    A user certificate is generated when the OPC UA User option is selected and the changes are saved. The certificate is placed into the store associated with this user when you click OK.

  4. To generate a new certificate, click the Certificates... button.
    Tip

    This is also how you can see the certificate details.

  5. On the User Certificate dialog, click the Generate button.

    Notice the Valid Until and Thumbprint values update.

  6. Click the Details... button to view more information about the certificate.
  7. Click OK to close the Certificate Details dialog.
  8. Click Close to close the User Certificate dialog.
  9. Click OK to close the user properties dialog and save the changes.
    If you have changed the user account or generated a new certificate, you will need to download the ProfessionalPlus Setup Data.
