DeltaV SIS composite blocks can contain DeltaV SIS function blocks and user-defined parameters. Nesting is not allowed. Composite block execution is synchronous with other function blocks in the module.
DeltaV SIS Composite blocks are always embedded and not linked. An embedded composite does not change if you modify the template you used to create the block. Embedded blocks are separate, standalone blocks. If you edit the structure of an embedded block, other copies of the composite block remain unchanged.
You cannot associate alarm definitions with a composite. You can assign a composite to an alarm group. When you assign a composite to an alarm group, the system assigns all the components in the composite to the same alarm group. If you are creating objects for reuse and want to save alarm definitions with the objects, you must create module templates.
