SIS Composite template run-time behavior

Online parameter changes to internal parameters of Embedded Composites created from protected SIS Composite Templates are not allowed, either by secure writes or Calculation/Logic block writes. A Calculation/Logic block within a protected composite can write to parameters within that protected composite.

Writes are not allowed to protected parameters or parameters of a block within a protected composite. If a user attempts to write a value an error message appears. If a Calc block attempts the write, the Output Failure bit in the Calc blocks BLOCK_ERR parameter is set.

If users need to change parameter values of a block within a protected SIS Composite Template from the operator environment, promote the parameters to composite-level parameters. Make sure the input parameters are included in SIS Parameter Security and assigned an appropriate lock or change the default lock for SIS parameters.
