Enabling DeltaV SIS software creates a tab in the DeltaV User Manager interface for SIS locks. The process to assign keys is identical to that used for granting keys to DeltaV locks.
By default, users are not granted keys to any of the SIS locks. There are special SIS groups (for example, SIS Engineering and SIS Operate) that are granted some SIS keys by default. You can customize these groups, create your own groups, or grant keys to individual users as required for your situation.
Access to certain SIS functions should be strictly limited to ensure the integrity of safety instrumented systems. Only Safety Engineers should be given certain access privileges, such as SIS Can Configure. Other privileges should be given to personnel on an as-needed basis.
