Use DeltaV Diagnostics to view status information for SIS Network domains, Logic Solvers, Logic Solver cards and channels, SISNet Repeaters, and assigned SIS modules. The SIS Network in the left pane of the Diagnostics application contains the Domains, Logic Solvers, Logic Solver I/O, Assigned SIS Modules, and SISNet Repeaters. Diagnostics for the SIS Network is similar to diagnostics for the control network. However, there are some additional tools available to diagnose SIS Network domains and physical rings.
Most of this section explores an example SIS installation, starting with the physical layout, progressing through the configuration in DeltaV Explorer, and ending with an examination of the installation in DeltaV Diagnostics.
This section uses the convention of describing communication in the SIS Network as if it were between controllers instead of repeaters, logic solvers, or SIS modules.
