Create a campaign

  1. Enter a name in the Campaign Name field.

The campaign name may include any characters except spaces, ampersands, brackets, braces, parentheses, semicolons, apostrophes, and quotation marks.

    Note

The Batch ID Prefix field defaults to up to the first 22 characters of the campaign name.

  2. Enter a number in the Number of Batches field.

The Number of Batches value cannot exceed the default Sequence Length that is defined in the Campaign Manager Options dialog. For example, if the 3 Digits option is selected as the default Sequence Length, the number of batches cannot exceed 3 digits or 999.

Batches can be added (using New Batch) or deleted (using Delete Batch).

  3. Enter the number of batches that may be active in the Batch Executive at one time into the Maximum Active Batches field.

Active means in any state other than Ready or Completed.

  4. Enter a description to further identify the campaign in the Description field.
    This field is optional.
  5. Add a base recipe to the campaign by clicking the Select button.

This recipe is used as the base recipe for all production batches in the campaign.

  6. In the Select Recipe dialog, select a recipe to be used as the base recipe.
  7. Select Continuous Iteration (only available after selecting the base recipe) to have this campaign run continuously. When continuous iteration is enabled, the Campaign Manager continues to add batches to this campaign based on the base recipe. Completed batches are removed from the campaign automatically. This allows the campaign to continue until continuous iteration is turned off. Once continuous iteration is turned off, the Campaign Manager runs all the remaining batches in the campaign (without creating more). This allows you to set a cleanup batch to be run after all other batches complete and are removed.
  8. Enter a Batch ID Prefix, Sequence, and Suffix or use the default value for any of these fields.
    Note

The Batch ID Prefix field defaults to the first 22 characters of the campaign name. The Sequence number is a required field. It is a counter with a default starting value of 00001; it can be changed to any integer. The Suffix field defaults to the first 22 characters of the base recipe.

  9. Click Setup Batch (or Cleanup Batch) to create a setup or cleanup batch for the campaign.
  10. On the Create Campaign dialog, click Create to create the campaign batches, including the setup and cleanup batches.
  11. If you wish to specify that completed batches should be automatically removed from the Batch Executive, open the Properties dialog for the campaign.
