The CHARM I/O Carrier and
the WirelessHART I/O Carrier can house either a copper or fiber-optic I/O port
(IOP). The copper IOP consists of a primary and secondary control network port
and a primary and secondary cascade port. The fiber-optic IOP consists of a
control network port only.
The cascade ports on the
copper IOP allow up to 16 WirelessHART I/O Carriers or CHARM I/O Carriers to be
connected together (daisy-chained) without wiring back to a central switch. The
control network ports on the copper IOP connect to the DeltaV Control Network .
The IOPs are removeable.
To remove an IOP, depress the button next to the IOP and pull it out of the
carrier.
