The Emerson Smart Firewall controls traffic going into the DeltaV network; in particular HTTP, OPC, and remote desktop traffic. It also controls traffic coming out of the DeltaV network such as HTTP.

Installation notes
- The firewall can be installed between the DeltaV network and a plant LAN and between the DeltaV network, a demilitarized zone (DMZ), and the plant LAN.
