Assigning I/O devices to controllers

Complete the following steps to assign an I/O device to a controller:

1. Open the device card.
2. Select Controller Assignment.
3. Click the ellipsis at the right of the Host Controller field.
4. On the Browse for Host Controller dialog that appears, select the controller you want to assign the device to and then click Select.

Assigning an allocated I/O device placeholder to a controller in I/O Studio is functionally identical to assigning the associated connection path to the controller in DeltaV Explorer.
