Creating one or more unallocated device placeholders from one or more masters

You can create one or more unallocated device placeholders using one or more device masters by performing the following steps in I/O Studio:

1. On the I/O Tools menu, click New and select Create Device(s) from Master.
2. On the dialog that appears, enter names (device tags) for the new devices you want to create and select a device master for each new device.
3. Click OK.
