Creating and configuring placeholders for I/O devices

Downloading device configurations

In I/O Studio, when an I/O device placeholder has been allocated to a connection path, you can complete the following steps to download the connection path and the device configuration.

For a device allocated to a CHARM:
  1. Select the device in the I/O Explorer pane.
  2. Click the Home tab at the top.
  3. Click Download CHARM on the I/O Tools menu.

For a SIS device:

  1. Select the CSLS in the I/O Explorer pane.
  2. Click the Home tab at the top.
  3. Click Download Node on the I/O Tools menu.

For a wireless device:

  1. Double-click the WIOC in the I/O Explorer pane to open the WIOC card.
  2. Select the wireless device on the WIOC card.
  3. Click the Home tab at the top.
  4. Click Download Node on the I/O Tools menu.
Note

I/O Studio does not offer an option to upload configuration changes to the DeltaV database. However, the system preserves changed parameters for later uploading, and you can upload them in DeltaV Explorer.
