Use Logic Solvers with S-series controllers

Connect S-series controllers to a Safety Instrumented System on the same DIN rail

S-series controllers and I/O can connect to a SIS system on the same DIN rail by connecting a SIS Adapter between the S-series and M-series carriers as shown in the following figure.

  1. Connect the SIS Adapter between an S-series 8-Wide I/O Carrier and the M-series 8-Wide Horizontal I/O Carrier that is holding the Logic Solvers.
  2. Connect an M-series right 1-Wide Horizontal Carrier Extender to the M-series 8-Wide Horizontal I/O Carrier that is holding the Logic Solvers.
  3. Install two 120 ohms BNC terminators on the BNC connectors on the last right 1-Wide Horizontal Carrier Extender.
