Installing the DeltaV P-Series Controller

For simplex controller systems, the controller mounts on the left controller slot of the P-series power/controller carrier.

Note

Refer to the DeltaV Power and Grounding manual for information on proper configuration of an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to back up the controller power during short-term power outages. The UPS allows the controller to continue operating and to maintain current process data even when AC main power is down. Refer to the UPS manufacturer’s specifications for all other UPS information.

Simplex installation: Align the connectors on the back of the controller with the connectors on the left slot of the P-series carrier and push to attach.
After about 5 seconds, the LEDs on the controller (when powered) will go to an appropriate state when properly seated.
Tighten the mounting screw.
Redundant installation: Align the connectors on the back of the 2nd controller with the connectors on the right slot of the of the P-series carrier and push to attach.
After about 5 seconds, the LEDs on the controller (when powered) will go to an appropriate state when properly seated.
Tighten the mounting screw.
