Set up and run a test

Set up and run the test and when the test completes, the green bars are automatically placed at the test beginning and end times. (The data between the green bars is the data that PredictPro uses to create the model and the control.) You can use the test data to create the model or you can select other data to create the model.

  1. Select the MPCPro or MPCPlus module.
  2. Put the downstream blocks in the correct mode.
  3. Select Test Setup in the tree view.

    In the Test Setup area, enter the values for:

    • Step size: the percent change in the manipulated variable that will be made during the test. The default is 5%.
    • Time to Steady State
    • Cycles: The number of cycles that the test will run. The default is the number of controlled variables in the block.
  4. Click the Test button.
  5. The progression bar shows the portion of the test that is complete and the estimated time remaining to complete the test is shown below the progression bar.

    To stop a test, click the Abort button.

    To change a manipulated parameter value during testing:

    • Select the variable faceplate that you want to set the value
    • Right-click, and then select Set Value
    • Enter a new value for the manipulated parameter, and then click OK.
