Restore defaults on a switch

If you are going to replace or remove a switch, first use the Restore Defaults command. The Restore Defaults command resets the properties of a selected switch to the default DeltaV factory settings. The switch's IP address is cleared, the switch's name is replaced with a name generated by the switch. The switch is moved to the Decommissioned Switches branch in the hierarchy and identified by its MAC address. The switch icon in the Commissioned Switches branch of the hierarchy remains but its icon changes to show that it is no longer communicating.

This command is available in the following locations on switches that have communicating IP addresses:
  • On nodes in the Tree View pane representing commissioned switches.
  • On items in the Summary pane representing commissioned switches.
