Bulk editing CHARM I/O cards and CHARMs

This section outlines how to bulk edit DeltaV CHARM-related configuration objects.

One general procedure to bulk edit CHARM objects (both CHARM I/O cards and CHARMs combined) is:

  1. Create a CHARM I/O card (CIOC). 

  2. Configure at least one of each type of CHARM you want to bulk edit. 

  3. Use the charmIO.fmt format specification file to export the CIOC or create your own format specification file. 

    The export file contains one line for each of the 96 CHARM slots in the CIOC. 

  4. Edit the file in the bulk edit Excel add-in. 

  5. Import the file. 

You can also bulk edit CHARM I/O cards and CHARMs separately, using the cioc.fmt and charms.fmt format files respectively (or create your own format files).
