LSNB secure parameter mapping

As secure parameter references are configured, the database maps information about the parameter sources and references. Secure parameter mappings are grouped into logical entities named publishers. For more information on publishers, refer to topic Global Safety Network.

Each publisher in an LSNB can publish up to 192 Boolean secure parameter mappings and 64 non-Boolean secure parameter mappings. An LSNB can host a maximum of four publishers.

The parameter data is packaged in a message and given an ID that the referencing LSNB publishes on its LSN.

Mapping information is created and a publisher slot is allocated by the database when a secure parameter reference is saved to the database.

Some secure parameters can be accessed and used by any node within the DeltaV system, while others can be accessed only by nodes that are in the same domain as the LSNB that hosts the publisher which mapped the secure parameter. That difference is determined by the order in which you create secure parameter references:

It is recommended you consider what secure parameters may be needed for system-wide use, and create those secure parameter references first if possible. An alternative is to define two parameters: one for domain purposes and one for system purposes. While this may increase the number of publishers needed, it provides more flexibility.
