Provision CHARMs I/O Blocks

I/O Gateways and I/O Blocks are physical devices that enable DeltaV systems to support distributed CHARMs. When an I/O Gateway or I/O Block is connected to the system, it appears in DeltaV Diagnostics as deprovisioned (not functional). You must provision the I/O Gateway or I/O Block to make it functional.

  1. Navigate to I/O NetworkCIOC CHARM I/O GatewaysCHARM I/O Block.
    For a CSLS, the distributed stations folder is under SIS ControllerLocal Safety NetworkCSLSCHARM I/O Gatewaysgateway CHARM I/O Block.
  2. Select Distributed Stations and right-click Provision Stations.
    The software displays a list of connected I/O Blocks.
  3. Click the check box next to the I/O Blocks you want to provision. The interface also enables you to edit the names and descriptions of the I/O Blocks.
  4. When you have selected the I/O Blocks you want to provision, click Yes.
    Note

    You can provision a single I/O Block by selecting it and right clicking Provision Station.
