Assign a block to a fieldbus device

Select the block that you want to assign to the fieldbus device, and convert it to fieldbus.

Note

You can use any of the DeltaV blocks that can execute in a fieldbus device (for example, PID, AO, AI) or Physical Block and Custom Block found in the Special Items category on the palette.

With the block selected, right-click, and then select Assign I/O → to fieldbus.

Note

If the block is not already converted to fieldbus, selecting Assign I/O to fieldbus will convert it automatically. Adjust your parameter settings and wiring as needed once the block is assigned/extended.

In the to Assign to fieldbus dialog, browse to fieldbus function block by double-clicking Controller, I/O, Card, Port, and fieldbus device.

Select the fieldbus function block.

Click OK in the Assign to fieldbus Device dialog.

Download the module to the assigned device.
