Convert a block to a fieldbus extended block

You can convert a DeltaV function block to an extended block. You can also convert an extended block that is already assigned to a device to another extended block type provided the device supports the parameters in the block. For either of these operations, use the Convert command.

Select the block that you want to convert.
Right-click, and then select Convert → To Fieldbus from the context menu.
Select the extended block from the list of available blocks.
Click OK.

The parameter view now displays the fieldbus parameters available for that type of block. Configure the parameters and assign the block to a fieldbus device if it is not already assigned.

You can also convert a fieldbus extended block to a standard library block.
