Configure an LSCEM block in an SIS module

The Properties dialog of the LSCEM block’s MATRIX parameter contains the Cause Effect matrix. The matrix is configured by adding an X to the intersection of a cause (row) and an effect (column). The presence of an X means the cause is associated with the effect; a blank means there is no association.

  1. Drag a Cause Effect Matrix block from the Advanced Functions palette onto the module’s function block diagram. The default block contains 4 causes and 1 effect.
  2. With the LSCEM block selected, right-click the MATRIX parameter in the Parameter view, and then select Properties.

The MATRIX Properties dialog shows a table with the causes listed down the left side and the effects in columns to the right.

  3. To add an X to a cell (the intersection of a cause and an effect), select the cell, and then click Toggle Value. (Likewise, to remove an X, select it, and then click Toggle Value.) You can also double-click the cell to toggle the value.
  4. To adjust the column widths, click Autosize to automatically size each column or Minimize so that each column is only a few characters wide. You can also drag the line between column headings to adjust the column size.
  5. After configuring the matrix, click OK.
