You can install OSIsoft PI Server on an Application Station to function as the historian on your DeltaV system. The embedded PI Server historian is used to configure, collect, store, and retrieve historical data from DeltaV. You can use PI Server instead of or in addition to using the DeltaV Continuous Historian or the Advanced Continuous Historian. The embedded PI Server historian requires the DeltaV Smart Connector, as well as a DeltaV OPC Data Access Server and an Enterprise Historian Configuration Interface license from Emerson. The DeltaV Smart Connector includes the DeltaV Asset Connector and the PI OPC Data Access (DA) Interface.
