By default, the ports and devices that need downloading are selected by the system and clearly shown in the Express fieldbus Download dialog. To accept the system's download selections, select the Accept all system-selected items for download option. To select only those ports and devices that you want to download, locate the card and expand it to see the ports and devices that you want to select for download. You can also click the Expand All button and select the ports and devices that you want to download (using the Expand All option can take some time to complete, especially in large systems).
When the system detects that a device needs downloading (the device is checked and the Needs Downloading column reads Yes), it downloads only those items such as fieldbus device alarms and function blocks, that need downloading. However, if you select for download a device that the system does not recognize as needing a download, (the device is not checked and the Needs Downloading column reads No), the system performs a full download of that device. If you want the system to perform a full download for a device and the device's Needs Downloading column reads Yes, download the device from the DeltaV Explorer and select the check boxes under the device in the Select Additional Objects to Download dialog.
