The Express fieldbus Download option is available for faster downloads of fieldbus ports and devices during plant startup and commissioning. One port or multiple ports can be downloaded from the Express Fieldbus Download dialog.
The Express fieldbus Download option temporarily disables scheduled communications on the fieldbus and is intended only for plants that are starting up and commissioning fieldbus segments. It is not intended for use with a fieldbus segment that is currently controlling a process. Port and segment are used interchangeably in this topic.
In DeltaV Explorer, highlight the Control Network and select Express fieldbus Download from the context menu to open the Express Fieldbus Download dialog.
When this dialog opens, the controllers, their I/O subsystems, and H1 cards are listed under the Path column. You can expand a controller or H1 card to see the ports and devices under that card. Click the plus sign next to an item to expand its hierarchy. If the hierarchy cannot be expanded, be sure that the Exclude ports and devices which do not need to be downloaded option is not selected. You can also click the Expand All button to expand the hierarchy under each controller to see all ports and devices (using the Expand All option can take a significant amount of time, especially in large systems).
The Type column in the Express fieldbus Download dialog describes each item in the hierarchy and the Needs Downloading and Commissioned columns indicates (Yes or No) the item's download and commissioned status.
