Bind a unit

  1. Open the Batch List screen. Click the Add button to add a batch
    Note

If the User ID Verification function is enabled for adding a batch, the Change User button is available. You can temporarily change the user who will be performing the function. Any security checks (area privileges, and so on) are performed on the changed user.

  2. Each step of the recipe is listed in the Unit Binding pane of the Batch Creation dialog. All steps with class-based equipment requirements have a binding default of Defer. If there is a unit alias associated with the step, the step is bound to the unit alias by default. The equipment is selected by resolving the alias.
    Note

Unit-specific steps are already bound to the unit shown and cannot have their equipment binding changed.

  3. For each class-based step, select a unit to bind the step to or leave it as Defer (the unit binding is deferred until the step runs).
    Note

If no units are available in the list, contact a supervisor. Possible causes: you may not have the correct privileges for the areas assigned to this Batch Executive; or, there are no units of the required unit class are assigned to this Batch Executive.

  4. Click Create to create the batch and bind the units.
