Defining auto-commissioning policies

Auto-commissioning policies determine the behavior of the DeltaV Device Commissioner. You create, modify, delete, and determine the usage of auto-commissioning policies in I/O Studio. You select and use the policies in DeltaV Device Commissioner. You can see all auto-commissioning policies in the DeltaV system in DeltaV Explorer by browsing to Setup>>Smart Commissioning Policy>>Auto-Commissioning Policies.

New installations of DeltaV include one pre-configured auto-commissioning policy called AUTOCOMMPOLICY1. That policy is the default and is enabled for use in DeltaV Device Commissioner until you define and select another policy for use. You can have up to 255 auto-commissioning policies, but one will always be the default policy.

To change the default auto-commissioning policy, perform the following steps:

  1. Click Change Default Policy in the Auto-Commissioning Policy Options section of the Options menu.
  2. On the dialog that appears, select the policy you want to use as the default from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click Apply.
