Introduction to PredictPro

The MPCPro and MPCPlus function blocks implement multivariable control in the DeltaV system. When a module that contains an MPCPro or MPCPlus function block is downloaded, all inputs and outputs are assigned to the Continuous Historian. The PredictPro application uses this historical data to automatically create process models and control definitions used by the function block. The PredictPro application:

• Automatically trends block inputs and outputs
• Tests the process (runs an automated pseudo-random test using user-entered values for step size, response time, and number of test cycles)
• Creates and displays a process model (model can be modified by expert user)
• Verifies the accuracy of the model
• Generates MPC control for the MPCPro
• Commissions the function block
