Commission a fieldbus device to a port

  1. Navigate to the decommissioned fieldbus device (System Configuration/Physical Network/Control Network/controller/I/O/card/port/Decommissioned Fieldbus Devices). The decommissioned fieldbus devices appear in the right pane.
    Note:
    A standby device has the words Standby State in its detailed view in the right pane. If the detailed view is not showing, click View → Details. If the device is not in the standby state, you must place it in standby.
  2. Drag the device from the right pane to a fieldbus port on the left pane. The software displays the Device Commissioning wizard. This wizard compares the parameter values in the physical device with the parameter values in the placeholder and enables you to reconcile the differences. Follow the instructions in the wizard to reconcile the block parameters.
    Note:
    The Do Not Wait notice appears. If you click this, the state change continues in the background, but the notice goes away, enabling you to do other work.
