You can assign an unassigned WirelessHART device to a channel in any of the following ways:
Invoke the Assign to Channel command from an unassigned device's context menu in DeltaV Explorer. This opens a dialog that allows you to make a channel assignment. Any device properties that have been preconfigured for that channel (Device Tag, Device ID, Manufacturer, Type, and Revision) are presented in the dialog.
Drag a device from the pane labeled Unassigned WirelessHART Devices in the wireless Reconcile I/O dialog to a channel in the left pane.
Click the Bind by Tag button in the wireless Reconcile I/O dialog. This assignment is made by matching an unassigned HART device tag name to an existing device tag of the same name in the configuration. This feature is useful in engineering environments where the Device Tags preconfigured in DeltaV Explorer match the device tag names configured for the physically installed device.
After you assign a WirelessHART device to a channel, the configured Manufacturer, Type Device ID, and Revision properties are overwritten.
